Taiko 3rd Anniversary Quiz Answers

Right, so this year's quiz is slightly easier than last years, with much less work. Let's see how you guys did this round!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1.  Which version of Taiko was the first to have costumes of every animal in the Chinese/Japanese zodiac in it?

Taiko no Tatsujin DS: Touch de Dokodon! for the Nintendo DS (otherwise known as Taiko DS1). Each of the zodiac costumes are present in two pieces: head and body. Even the 13th zodiac, the cat, has a costume in the game.

2. -The song has 616 notes on Oni.
    - I played it once on a PSP, but never saw that song in an arcade before. Hope I'll be luckier next year!
    - Hitballoons... I think there were 5 of them for the Oni chart

What song is this?

GERMINATION, a download-only song for Taiko no Tatsujin Portable DX, for PSP. Don't believe me? Go check out the video we have on the PSP DX songlist!

3. The number of points per note usually goes down as you move from Kantan to Oni, on account of the note quantity increasing. However, there is a song which gives out a maximum of more than 18,000 points for one note on Oni difficulty. This song was released within the last three years. What song is this?

Overture X, the Dragon Quest 10 opening theme song, seen on Taiko 0 and Taiko no Tatsujin Wii: Chogouka-ban. The final two big notes, together with Go-Go Time, give out 20800 points each.

4. Which three licensed characters send mail to the player upon playing their songs once in Taiko Wii 4?

-Felyne, for playing Monster Hunter Medley
-Usavich, for playing Usavich Medley ~Taiko no Jikan~
-Nono Nonohara for playing Monologue (OP theme of Oresama Kingdom)

5. How many songs from the Precure anime are in Taiko no Tatsujin?

Fifteen. Some of these are exclusive to the PS2 and the older arcades so you'd have to dig a little deeper than usual!

6. Which arcade and console Taikos were released together on the same day?

Two sets:
-Taiko no Tatsujin 10 and Taiko no Tatsujin DS: Touch de Dokodon, both released on 26th July 2007
-Taiko no Tatsujin 12 and Taiko no Tatsujin Wii, both released on 11th December 2008

Either one is fine.

7. Which 3 Taiko songs were playable in the make-believe arcade in Yakuza 5?

Mappy Ondo, Nijiiro Yumeiro Taikoiro, From The New World

8. The SongIDs of Classic genre songs are typically cls***, where the stars are other letters. However there is one Classic song whose songID does not begin with 'cls'. Which song is this?

Beethoven's Ninth Symphony. Its song ID is 'daiku', meaning '9th' in Japanese.
